- Health and Social Services
- Youth Programs
- The Arts
- Civic Organizations and Activities
Mission Statement
The goal of The Usibelli Foundation is to provide funds to:
- Facilitate learning by supporting education
- Preserve Alaska's uniqueness by supporting its heritage
- Strengthen our communities.
Granting Policy
Grants are not automatically renewed annually and must be applied for in writing each year. Due to Federal Tax Law and Foundation Policy grants will not be made:
- to individuals
- for travel purposes
- to pageants
- to political organizations or campaigns
- for book publications, video/film/homepage productions
- to organizations that do not generally support resource development
- to national health and social service organizations unless they have a local chapter
- to organizations who discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin
Foundation Preferences
- A demonstrated widespread community benefit
- A demonstrated operating credibility
- An added value to areas surrounding the Fairbanks and Healy communities
- A significant show of volunteer support from Usibelli employees and their families
- Previous grant from The Usibelli Foundation. The Usibelli Foundation recognizes that budgetary stability is important to nonprofit organizations dependent upon raising operating funds annually from public sources
Applying for a Grant
When applying for a Usibelli Foundation grant please review the following requirements to ensure your request is complete.
Grant Proposals must:
- Provide a brief history of your organization
- Briefly describe your project's scope, goals, and objectives and explain its importance or impact
- Describe the people, organizations, or groups expected to benefit, and the anticipated benefits to each
- Describe collaborations with other related groups, as well as your organization's unique niche in the larger social service community
- Include the geographic area and approximate number of people served by your program or project
- Explain how and when your project will accomplish its goals
- Provide a copy of Internal Revenue Service letter documenting current federal tax exemption under Sections 501(c)(3) or 509(a), and
- Provide a brief budget statement, including other funding sources solicited and received
When to apply
The Usibelli Foundation's Allocation Committee meets quarterly. Requests must be submitted and received by the following deadlines in order to be considered during upcoming quarterly meeting.
